Deepen all the wheel lug nuts on the front wheels, then jack up the front part of the vehicle and secure it on a pair of jackstands. Pull the parking brake and place something under the rear wheels to stop any movement off the jackstands, proceed to take the wheels off. Thirdly, unscrew and take out the tie-rod end and Jam nut will be needed next. Because the outer boot clamp is rather thin, use pliers to pull it off, saw off the inner boot clamp with a pair of diagonal cutters, then slip off the boot. Before proposing the new boot, ensure that the threads on the end of the steering rod are covered with tape to avoid making a dent on the small end of the new boot to be fitted. Shift the new boot into place over the Rack and Pinion Boot until it snaps into the slot on the steering rod, then install new clamps and note that some new clamps might exist in proprietary designs that provide tools that are available at most auto supply companies. Take off the tape and proceed to place the tie-rod end. Then place the wheel and tighten the lug nuts to the recommended torque and then lower the car and get the front end alignment checked and corrected if called for.
