If you swap out parts like condensers and receivers in Sephias and Spectras (year models 1998 and up), put back the same amount of lubricant oil that you took out. Place the oil into the vehicle's R-134a cooling system. The receiver-drier (where gas is stored) must be replaced whenever we put in a new condenser. Start by hiring an air conditioning expert to remove and store the refrigerant in the system. Step by step: Unplug battery negative cable, take off front bumper, remove hood support brace, disconnect condenser tube connections, loosen bracket bolts, lift condenser up slowly from bottom while removing it. While working on the old condenser, brush up bent fins with a metal comb tool before cleaning out dust with compressed air making sure to wear face and eye protection. You build it just like you took it apart, slotting in fresh O-rings and sealing all connections with a thin layer of previously prepared R-134a oil. When switching to another condenser, lubricate it with 2/3 ounce of fresh refrigerant oil. When finished, plug back in the battery, have the shop who drained the system put the air back in, charge it up, and do a leak test.
