Crank all wheel lug nuts loose, lift up the front of your car, and use two jackstands to hold it in place before taking off the wheels. Unscrew and take out the hardware holding the inner fender splash shield in place, and off goes the shield; take off the upper radiator grille guard on later models, as well. Take off the screws or bolts beneath the car that hold down the lower parts of the bumper cover. Start by taking loose the screws holding the bumper cover to its position in front of the fender. Remove the headlight housings. After that, you can take out the bumper cover's top fasteners, then gently slide it away from its spot. To work on the back, lift the car into position and hold it stable on jackstands. On newer cars, open the trunk and remove two sets of panels (by the side and in the rear) to have room to access the screws. You must remove the screws and plastic clips on the underside of your vehicle that attach the bumper cover to the lower edge. Unscrew any screws holding the bumper cover in the rear wheel openings. Remove the taillight housings. Open the trunk or rear window opening, find and take out the screws and clips that hold up the top section of the bumper cover, then push the cover off the vehicle toward you. Installation is the reverse of removal.
