A few drops of light oil or lock lubricant should be used for the hinges and latch assemblies.

To remove the rear hatch outside handle, disconnect the outside handle rod and the latch rod. Then, take off the mounting nuts and remove the handle, with installation following the reverse order.

The hinges and latch assemblies should be lubricated once every 3000 miles or every three months.

To replace the actuator, disconnect the electrical connector, the outside handle rod, and the glass latch rod. Then, remove the mounting nuts and bolt, reposition the actuator to access and disconnect the actuator rod and key lock cylinder, and finally remove the actuator, with installation reversing the removal steps.
