The brake fluid from 1998 models and newer must be kept away from the paint because it can harm its appearance. First secure locking pliers along the clutch fluid feed hose two inches below the reservoir until you can remove the hose without fluid leakage. Use rags to contain fluid leakage while you remove the fluid feed hose from its cylinder position by loosening the clamp. The hydraulic line at the cylinder requires detachment while you should apply plugs or caps to the lines ends to stop fluid from leaking and contaminating the area. A mechanic must first withdraw the master cylinder pushrod clevis pin and then drop the pushrod clevis from the pedal by removing its retaining cotter pin or spring clip located under the dashboard. Remove the clutch master cylinder by first unscrewing the two retaining nuts then acquiring the cylinder from its place. The installation process begins by following the opposite order of removal then placing a fresh gasket between the firewall and master cylinder before tightening all nuts well. You must also add DOT 3 brake fluid to the reservoir and proceed with clutch system bleeding.
