    Q:
How to Remove and Install A/C Condenser in Kia Spectra? Posted by Customer
    A:
Have the refrigerant discharged and recovered by an air conditioning technician. Sephia and Spectra models: Remove the radiator grille and the condenser fan, receiver-drier and disconnect the refrigerant line on the right side of the condenser and cap it immediately to prevent dirt or moisture from entering the system. 1998 and later models: Remove the front bumper cover, hood latch support brace, disconnect the refrigerant line fittings to the condenser. Sportage models: Detach the coolant reservoir and set it aside, remove the transaxle oil cooler (on vehicles with an automatic transaxle), remove the left and right radiator mounting bolts and brackets, disconnect the high and low-side refrigerant lines at the right side of the radiator, then pull the radiator back a little, remove the condenser mounting bolts, disengage the lower mounting tabs from their brackets and lift the condenser up and out. If going to reuse the old condenser, straighten any bent condenser fins with a fin comb, then blow out the debris with compressed air. Installations the reverse of removal. Assemble all connections with new 0-rings, lightly lubricated with R-134a refrigerant oil. If a new condenser was installed, add 2/3-ounce (20 ml) of fresh refrigerant oil. Reconnect the battery, have the system evacuated, charged and leak tested by the shop that discharged it.
