    How do motors in an electric Car Mirror make adjustments, and what steps should be taken if the mirror glass does not move on Kia Sportage? Posted by Customer

    Most electric rear view mirrors utilize two motors for adjustments, one for vertical movement and another for horizontal movement. When adjusting the mirror, the power mirror adjustment switch sends voltage to the left or right side mirror. With the ignition key in the ON position (engine not running), operate the mirror adjustment switch through all functions for both mirrors. Listen for the sound of the electric motors running; if the motors are audible but the mirror glass does not move, there may be an issue with the drive mechanism. If there is no sound from the mirrors, check the fuse. If the fuse is intact, remove the power mirror adjustment switch and have its continuity checked by a qualified repair facility. Additionally, test the ground connections. If the mirror remains unresponsive, remove it and check for voltage at the wires. If no voltage is detected in any switch position, inspect the circuit between the mirror and the adjustment switch for any opens or shorts. If voltage is present, remove the mirror and test it off the vehicle using jumper wires, replacing it if it fails this test.

    The metal tab on the windshield is glued down. Unless it fell off you do not need

    What I want to confirm is that if this part has the same dimensions at the plastic base where the metal plate glued at the crystal windshield is fixed. I don't want to deal with removing the metal plate to re-glue another metal plate for this replacement mirror. In other words, is this a true fit replacement? Also, do you ship to Puerto Rico (PR)?
