If your wipers on the Sephia or Spectra moves very slowly, first make sure the battery is fully charged and functional; when that's true, take out the wiper motor and check to see if the linkage is stuck and if the pivots are sensitive; then grease or restore as needed before putting the motor back. When wipers stay slow, look for loose or corroded wiring connections before changing the motor only if all connections are good. To check wiper operation on Sephias and Spectras, test the fuse first; if it's good, connect a jumper wire to the motor ground terminal and try again. When the motor runs, fix the ground connection; if not, make sure voltage reaches the motor with the switch in the top position. When you find voltage coming through the connector, disconnect the motor and test it with battery wires; if it works, look for stuck linkage, and if it doesn't work, you need a new motor. In case you find no voltage to the motor, start by checking both wiper control relays and testing the switch as needed. When checking the wiper control module's wires for right connection, test the route from switch to the module. When your windscreen wipers can't park where they should, check if the park feed wire at the wiper motor's electrical connector has enough power. Start by removing the retaining nut housing and nuts on each wiper arm, note where each part was before taking it out. Unplug the motor's wiring, free the linkage by prying it apart, and take off the mounting bolts for complete removal of the motor. Squeeze the linkage loose from the cowl, apply grease to its pivot points, then put it back, making sure marks match when you put it back on. To take out the rear window wiper motor on 2001 and later Spectra models, remove the trim cover from above the wiper and the retaining nut underneath. Make a mark to show where the arm points, then you can safely release it. First, remove the hatch and the trim piece behind it. Next, pull out three bolts holding the motor in place to take it off. Unplug the electrical cable and attach everything backward when you install it. Mark where the wiper arm is before taking off the nut trim cap, start with pulling out the mounting nut and then the wiper arm itself. First take off the rear handle retaining nut, pull the handle out, lift the tailgate window, and strip off the trim cover from the windshield wiper motor. Unplug the electrical wire, take out the three mounting nuts, then take off the motor. Keep track that you install the motor with right side up when you put it back together.
