If you wish to remove and install the hood, it is wished that at least two people do it because the product is quite heavy and rather inconvenient. Start by protecting the vehicle body especially the fenders and the cowl region by use of blankets or padding. Mark the required positions for the centering of the stud by writing or sketching around the bolt heads and hinge plates. Any cables or wire harnesses that are in the way of removal should be disconnected. Two people, one on each side, unlock the bolts on the hood to the front bumper; keep steady the hood with your shoulder, and lift the hood away. While installing, align the hood's hinges with the scribe marks made earlier; if a new hood is used, or if the marks were not made, adjust as seen fit. Check and fine-tune the position of the fore-and-aft and right-and-left positions of the hood by using the elongated holes for the hinges, then scribe a reference line around the zone of the hinge plate. Spin the steering wheel back and forth and lessen the tension through the bolts by using the hood to check for alignments. For the change of the height as perceived vertically, the position of the edge cushions must be screwed in or out so that the hood aligns with the fenders, and for the hoods of the car that are frequently opened and closed, the latches and the hood hinges must be greased with white lithium-base grease to prevent sticking and wearing.
