Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal, remove the drivebelt and alternator, drain the engine coolant, remove the timing belt cover, paint each sprocket with alignment marks onto the timing belt, remove the timing belt tensioner, unscrew the water pump fasteners and remove the water pump, clean the water pump and block of any old gasket material or sealant, then clean with lacquer thinner, install a new gasket and install the water pump, install the water pump bolts and nuts and tighten them, remove the water pump pulley mounting bolts and remove the pulley, remove the water pump mounting bolts, then remove the pump and gaskets, raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands, remove the water pump pulley mounting bolts and remove the pulley from the pump, remove the water pump inlet tube mounting bolts, remove the water pump mounting bolts then remove the pump and inlet tube as an assembly, install new water pump gaskets to the cylinder block, remove and discard the Inlet pipe O-rings, install new O-rings to the inlet pipe, coat the O-rings with a small amount of white grease, and insert the tube into the water pump, maneuver the pump assembly into position and insert the inlet tube into the housing at the same time the pump is placed into position, install the bolts and tighten them, refill the cooling system, then run the engine and check for leaks and proper operation.
