How to Remove and Replace a Radiator? Posted by Customer

Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal, remove the engine splash shield(s) from beneath the radiator and any engine covers, if equipped, remove the air filter housing, the battery and battery tray, disconnect the wiring to both fan motors, drain the cooling system, detach the upper and lower radiator hoses from the radiator and the reservoir hose from the radiator filler neck, disconnect the transmission/transaxle oil cooler lines from the radiator, remove the radiator upper cover fasteners and remove the cover, remove the NC condenser mounting bolts and slightly separate the condenser from the radiator, unbolt the radiator mounts and carefully remove the radiator, remove the cooling fan shroud assembly from the radiator, inspect the radiator for leaks, damage and internal blockage, clean the radiator with compressed air and a soft brush, install the radiator in reverse order, fill the cooling system with the proper mixture of antifreeze and water, start the engine and check for leaks, allow the engine to reach normal operating temperature, recheck the coolant level and add more if required, check the automatic transmission/transaxle fluid level and add fluid as needed.
