2006 and earlier, All four-cylinder and all V6 models come equipped with timing belts, while every other model is equipped with timing chains that will not need to be replaced/ serviced. It is recommended that the timing belt is checked every thirty thousand miles or every time there is a probability that oil leakage will affect the belt positively. To check, it is recommended to unlock and take off the upper timing belt cover, and confirm that the belt is free cleaner, free of oil, and in an excellent state. Oil leaks on the timing belt must be identified and addressed as soon as possible since they pose numerous complications. However, even if the timing belt looks fine, it will be best to replace it at the right time so as to avoid a breakdown, of the engine for instance.
