How Do You Remove an Accelerator Cable? Posted by Customer
A:
To remove the accelerator cable, first remove the engine cover, then disengage the cable from the throttle lever and trace it back to the firewall, noting the routing and detaching any cable clips or guides. Inside the vehicle, disengage the cable from the accelerator pedal and remove the bolts to detach it from the firewall, then pull the cable through the firewall from the engine compartment side. Installation is the reverse of removal, with a dab of white grease applied to the nylon ball at the accelerator pedal end of the cable.
