Kia 811901F100 Hood Latch Cable Assembly

Unfasten all the radiator cover holder bolts and pull off the cover. You need to remove cover fasteners, bolts from the latch cover, and then carefully remove the cover. First, unbolt the hood latch bolts. Then take the latch out, and unplug the release cable from the latch by removing its grommet and cable end plug from where they belong. Pull the cable end off the latch. Take out all hood release handle mounting screws and the hood release cable will detach from the handle. Remove the handle, and undo the connection between the hood release handle and the cable. Start in the engine space. Follow how the release cable runs, loosen and remove all bracket clips along the way. Pass the cable through the barrier between the engine and the passenger area. Installing the cable is the same process in reverse: you need to make sure the passage that the hood release cable goes through the firewall is firmly planted.
