    How to remove and install the air intake duct and Air Filter Box on Kia Optima? Posted by Customer

    Removing the engine cover. Disconnect the electrical connector at the Mass Airflow (MAF) sensor, and then disconnect from it the electrical connector of the Throttle Position (TP) sensor (V6 models). Disconnect the PCV fresh air inlet hose from ducting. Loosen both ends of hose clamps on air intake duct then, remove the duct. When replacing an air intake duct, remove MAF sensor and install it onto new intake duct. Reinstallation is opposite to removal. If you need to remove the air Filter Box, remove air intake duct. The cover of air Filter Box should be taken off; filter element removed as well. There are bolts for holding down air Filter Box which have to be unscrewed. Uninstall air Filter Box by taking out its bolts. Reinstallation is opposite to removal.
