Before attempting to remove the tie-rod end, it is advisable to, Loosen the wheel lug nuts, raise the front of the van, and support it on jackstands, block the rear wheels, set the parking brake and finally, remove the front wheel. Third, unlock the tie-rod and gripped with the locking pliers or with the wrench and free the jam nut so that one can align the tie-rod end for positioning with the reference marks on the tie-rod and transfer these marks to the new tie-rod end such that it would have threaded on the same turn as the old one. Fitted to the spindle is the nut on the tie-rod end stud, need to remove it by unscrewing it also remove the cotter pin then using puller device pulling the tie-rod away from steering knuckle arm. Remove the nut and flat washer of the tie-rod end from the tie-rod. For installation, thread the tie-rod end on to the marked position and then, slot the tie-rod stud into the steering knuckle arm before final tightening of the jam nut. On the stud, place the castle nut and torque it to the right specification while replacing the cotter pin to a new one. Last, put the wheel and the lug nuts, lower the car and then tighten the lug nuts according to the torque specifications and then it is advisable to have it aligned by the dealer service department or by an alignment shop.
