From 2001 to 2006, it is found at the rear of the fuel tank under the vehicle (raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands). From 2006.5 onwards, it's located under a cover in the trunk floor. Take off the cover and disconnect the fuel pump electrical connector. Relieve the fuel system pressure and remove the fuel tank cap. Disconnect cable from negative battery terminal. Remove fuel lines from top of fuel pump unit. Detach bolts that hold together: Fuel Pump/Fuel Level Sensor Mounting Flange. Carefully lift out the assembly containing: Fuel Pump/Fuel Level Sensor from Fuel Tank. Check if inlet strainer of fuel pump has contaminants. If dirty, try using some clean solvent and an old toothbrush to clean it. If while installed, strainer is too dirty to be cleaned, then this should be done after removing it from Fuel Pump/Fuel Level Sensor. In case you fail to properly clean replace it. Installation is opposite what was done when detaching.

If you have removed the fuel pump/ Fuel Level Sensor from the tank of gasoline, you can swap either the whole unit or dismantle it and replace its constituent parts such as the fuel inlet strainer, fuel pump or Fuel Level Sensor. Take out of the gas tank assembly of this type which consists of a fuel pump/Fuel Level Sensor that has been assembled by man himself. Make sure to drain any remaining petrol from within the body of your Fuel Level Sensor; then lay it down on a smooth table. Note that evaporation will take place into space due to gas consumption by this device therefore ensure you are in a well-ventilated area when working with it. Consider blocking off if there is doubt about it, change one's mind at all costs. This means that on 2001 through 2006 models, you can replace only a faulty reservoir gauge for fuels without buying an entire assembly as we did before for those years. Detach it from the primary construction. Other components like pressure regulators and pumps may be repairable using particular aftermarket sections available at many local shops supply them so much to us. The opposite of disassembly is reassembly itself! Place the newly bought gasoline receiver back in its initial position inside your petrol container now!
