Look upward through the trunk lid access hole to detach the rod from the lock cylinder by removing the rod retaining clip, then separate the rod. Remove the bolts that hold the trunk lid latch in place, and installation follows the reverse order of removal. For the trunk lock cylinder, open the trunk and again look upward through the access hole to detach the rod from the lock cylinder, then remove the mounting bolt or clip to take out the lock cylinder, with installation reversing the removal steps. For Sportage models, start by removing the rear hatch trim panel screws and plastic fasteners, then carefully pry off the trim panel. To access the rear hatch latch, disconnect the electrical connector, the outside handle rod, and the actuator rod, then remove the latch mounting bolts and the latch itself, with installation reversing the removal process. For the rear hatch glass latch, disconnect the hatch glass latch rod, loosen the latch mounting bolts, disconnect the electrical connector, and remove the latch, again reversing the steps for installation. To remove the rear hatch outside handle, disconnect the outside handle rod and the latch rod, then take off the mounting nuts and remove the handle, with installation following the reverse order. For the actuator, disconnect the electrical connector, the outside handle rod, and the glass latch rod, then remove the mounting nuts and bolt, reposition the actuator to access and disconnect the actuator rod and key lock cylinder, and finally remove the actuator, with installation reversing the removal steps.
