    Q:
How to replace the rear Crankshaft Seal on a Kia Sorento with a four-cylinder engine? Posted by Customer
    A:
First, the transmission/transaxle must be pulled out, next, take out the flywheel/driveplate as well. Pull off the Crankshaft Seal from the back of the engine by using a seal pulling tool or a head of the screwdriver but ensure you do not mar the crankshaft or the seal hole. Wipe out the seal bore in the block using a shop towel; make sure it is free from oil and dirt. Apply grease to the outside diameter of the seal and slide it up and over the end of the crankshaft with the lip facing the engine. Preferably using a seal installation tool to re-set the new seal in place and be aware that the small oil drain in the separator must be in the lowest position. If the proper seal installation tool is not available, use a large socket; use this to drive the new seal gently right into the seal bore so that it is flush with the outside rim of the engine block. Last, fit the flywheel/drive plate, and then put in the transmission/transaxle.

    Q:
How to replace the front Crankshaft Seal on a Kia Optima V6 engine? Posted by Customer
    A:
As for the front crankshaft oil seal, here are the removing procedures, get rid of the timing belt and crankshaft sprocket, and you can take off the sensor ring along with the spacer at its back. Slowly open the seal with a screwdriver or a seal cutter being keen not to hurt the housing bore or the crankshaft since this will result to leaking with the new seal. Clean the bore in the engine and before installing the new seal they wipe the outer edge of the new seal with engine oil or multi-purpose grease and apply the same grease to the seal lip. A seal driver or a calibrated socket that is slightly smaller than the seal's outer diameter should be used to co tactly impact the new seal over the former seat with a hammer until it bottoms squarely and evenly with the original within which the spring should remain seated. Last, replace those components, which were unbolted to achieve access and crank the engine to look for the front seal oil leaks.

    Q:
How to remove and install the rear Crankshaft Seal on Kia Optima? Posted by Customer
    A:
Again, you have to pull out the transaxle; after that, you have to do the same with the driveplate or flywheel. The Crankshaft Seal is pressed on from the back of the engine therefore pry it off carefully using the seal removing tool or the screwdriver but be careful not to cut or scratch the crankshaft or the seal slot. Wipe down the inside of the seal bore in the block with the shop towel just to remove as much oil and dirt as possible. Apply oil on the outside diameter of the seal and place it over the end of the crankshaft with the lip facing the engine. If one is available, it is preferred to use a seal installation tool to push the new seal into place and mentioning that a small oil drain in the separator must be in the lowest position. If the proper tool is not available, a large socket may be placed on the new seal and placed inside the seal bore and tapped in squarely and flush with the edge of the engine block. Finally, fit the driveplate or flywheel back onto the engine or fit the transaxle back into the car.

    Q:
How to replace the Camshaft Seal and Crankshaft Seal on a Kia Sportage V6 engine? Posted by Customer
    A:
To replace the crankshaft front oil seal, unfasten the timing belt along with the crankshaft sprocket and thereby, removing the sensor ring and the spacer placed behind it. Slowly open the seal using a screwdriver or seal removal tool because if the housing bore or crankshaft get scratched, there will be leakage with the new seal. Remove dirt from the boer in the engine and lubricate only the outer rim of the new seal as well as the seal lip with multi-purpose grease. Utilize a seal driver to delicately seat the new seal using a hammer and ensure that the position of the seal is correct since it is being put in a fully fitting position to the original position in addition to ensuring that the spring did not get displaced during this process. Replace the components that were unbolted to gain access to the seal and start the engine for oil leaks around the front seal. To address the crankshaft rear oil seal, one has to adhere to the following processes. To replace the camshaft oil seals, the timing belt and the camshaft sprockets need to be removed, paying particular attention to determining how deep into the bores the seals should go to be inserted with help of a seal removal tool or a screwdriver wrapped in a tape to prevent scratching the bores. Scrub the bores and uniformly oil or grease the outer circumference of the new seals, the sealing lip of the seals also has to be greased. Finally before completely tightening the bolts, use a seal driver to softly strike on the seals to install it squarely and to the depth of the old one. Last of it, replace all parts that you have taken off, make sure that belt and sprockets are in alignment and also clean the area around the seals so that you are to see any leaks in the future.
