- A:The VSS is located behind the engine, on top of the transaxle, near the inner CV joint for the right driveaxle assembly. Depending on the year and model, some components may need to be disconnected or removed to access the VSS. Using a flashlight, locate the VSS. Disconnect the VSS electrical connector. Remove the VSS mounting bolt and remove the VSS. Installation is the reverse of removal. Be sure to use a new 0-ring and tighten the VSS mounting bolt securely.Posted by KiaPartsNow Specialist
