- Q:How to remove and replace an Axle Shaft on Kia Sedona?Posted by Damon G.A:Set the parking brake, loosen lug nuts, raise the vehicle, and remove the wheel. Unstake the axle shaft/hub nut, remove the brake caliper and disc, disconnect the tie-rod end, and separate the control arm balljoint. Slide the axle shaft out of the hub, place a drain pan under the inner CV joint, and remove the heat shield. Pry out the inner CV joint, slide the intermediate shaft out, and clean the splines on both CV joints. Apply grease to the inner CV joint, seat the snap-ring, and ensure it's seated. Insert the splined shaft into the differential gears, install the bearing bolts, and tighten them. Install the heat shield, tighten the strut bolts, and stake the axle shaft/hub nut. - Q:How to remove the front Axle Shaft assembly from a 2009 and earlier Kia Sorento?Posted by Micah P.A:Free the front wheel lugs and then raise the front end of the vehicle, and firmly jack it until you remove the front wheels. Undo the nut on the driveshaft and the differential companion flange and then remove both the driveaxles. Remove the steering gear bolts and move it to the back and anchor the gear with wire or any rope available. Place the left and right side of the axle assembly with the help of the floor jack and take out the nuts of the left and right side mounts. Swing the axle assembly forward and drop it from the vehicle with the installation procedure as follows the removal one.Answered by Kia Parts Specialist Mario / Apr 30, 2025
