Gloves should be worn when one is working within the door opening to avoid cuts on the hands from the sharp metal pieces. The models containing HFOB from the years 2001 through 2006 should start with the process of the removal of the door trim panel and the water shield. After that, release the door window glass, and after detaching the electrical connector that is fitted to the regulator motor, twist the regulator assembly mounting bolts so that you could pull the regulator through the large opening left in the door. Installation can be regarded as the process that is opposite to the removal and prior to installing the regulator, it is recommended to lubricate the rollers and the wear points with white grease. For models from 2006.5 and later, the first step is to remove the door trim panel, then disconnect the electrical connector of the power window motor, then use the screw drivers to remove the screws that hold the motor in place and subsequently, remove the motor. Consequently, to access the window regulator, the door trim panel must be disconnected, the regulator motor has to be pulled out, the door window glass needs to be additionally removed and last but not least, the mounting nuts have to be loosened to pull the regulator out through the larger hole between the door module and the door. Removal is performed in the reverse of steps of installation.
