Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Remove the air intake duct. For 2005 and earlier models, disconnect the electrical connectors from the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) and Idle Speed Control (ISC) motor. For 2006 and later models, disconnect the wiring from the throttle control motor by removing the throttle body-to-support bracket bolt, followed by the throttle body mounting bolts. If applicable, disconnect the vacuum hoses from the throttle body and clamp off the coolant hoses to minimize coolant loss. Remove the throttle body mounting fasteners and take off the throttle body, ensuring to remove the throttle body support bracket bolt at the base for 2006 and later models. Disconnect the coolant hoses from the throttle body, pinching off the two hoses prior to detaching them to avoid spillage. Remove and discard the old throttle body gasket, then clean the gasket mating surfaces. Installation is the reverse of removal; use a new gasket and tighten the throttle body mounting bolts to the specified torque, checking the coolant level and adding as necessary.
