- Q: How do you remove and install the driveplate on Kia Sorento?A:Your last step to in the removal of driveplate will be to unplug the cable that is connected to the negative terminal of the battery and finally, the transmission/transaxle must be removed. It is recommended to place a centre punch or paint the crankshaft flange and the Drveplate so that it can easily relocate in the right position every time it is removed. Subsequently, pray the bolts off that hold drive plate over the crankshaft using a drive plate holding tool or a screwdriver pry-bar combined with the bit of the socket. All spacers which are applied to the engine should be noted and their positions marked when the driveplate is removed.
