To remove the intake manifold, first relieve the fuel system pressure and disconnect the negative cable from the battery. Next, remove the engine cover, air intake duct, and resonator, then drain the cooling system and remove the upper radiator hose. Disconnect the electrical connectors to the OCV valve, VIS, oil pressure sending unit, knock sensor, NC compressor, fuel injectors, throttle body, MAP sensor, IAT sensor, and VCM, along with the brake booster hose and PCV hose. Disconnect the canister purge solenoid and relieve the fuel system pressure again before disconnecting the fuel supply hose from the fuel rail. Remove the intake manifold brace bolts and the brace, followed by the intake manifold bolts and nuts, then take out the manifold with the throttle body. For installation, clean the mating surfaces of the intake manifold and
Cylinder Head mounting surface with brake system cleaner, checking the gasket for leaks and the manifold for warpage. Install the manifold and gasket over the studs on the cylinder head, tightening the manifold-to-cylinder head nuts/bolts in three or four equal steps to the specified torque, working from the middle bolts outward. Reinstall the remaining parts in reverse order, check the coolant level, and run the engine to check for leaks. Finally, road test the vehicle to ensure proper operation of all accessories, including the cruise control system if equipped.
