How to remove and install a starter motor on Kia Sorento?

Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Detach the electrical connectors from the starter/solenoid assembly. On some V6 models, it will be necessary to unbolt the front section of the exhaust system from the exhaust manifolds, disconnect the front exhaust system hanger and lower the exhaust pipes for access. Remove the starter motor mounting bolts and remove the starter. The starter is retained by two bolts - make sure the battery and the starter wiring are disconnected before removing it. Installation is the reverse of removal.

The Kia Sorento Starter Motor is responsible for the burst of mechanical spin to wake the engine every time you twist the key or press the button.
