Before you start working, start by removing the radiator grille cover (if there is one) and unscrew the bolts that hold and connect the latch. Lift the latch release cable housing off the latch, then separate the cable from its connected slot in the latch mechanism. To put in a new cable, cut it off from the latch mechanism, then unhook it from any holders on the radiator support. To replace the cable, put a wire or string by the cable end of the latch, make the left front wheel loose and free, raise your car on jackstand securely, and take off the wheel. Unbolt and pull out the left inner
Fender splash shield from its holding place. In the vehicle's interior, take off the leash handle from the below trim on the left side by removing the hood release cable nut and disconnecting the cable. Insert the passenger compartment side of the cable through the grommet, run it back to where you started, make sure there's a new grommet attached, then remove the old cable and attach it to the new one. Push the wire through your body, make sure it slides under the fender's rubber clips on its way, and put everything back together, checking that the grommet fits well inside the body.
