Dispose of the old oil properly, either through recycling facilities or designated disposal sites. Never pour it on the ground or down a drain.

To drain the old oil, park the vehicle on a level surface, start the engine to reach normal operating temperature, turn it off, and remove the filler cap. Place a drain pan under the drain plug, remove the plug with the proper wrench, and let the old oil drain into the pan. Inspect the old oil for metal shavings and chips. After draining, wipe the drain plug opening, and reinstall the plug securely without stripping the threads.
