To unbolt the outside mirrors, begin by unscrewing the mirror trim panel which you can do with a panel pop tool or a screwdriver taped to avoid scratching the surface. However, one must first unplug the electrical connection of the mirror, then take off the three bolts and finally pull away the mirror out of the car while supporting it in the car through the window slot. Installation is also a step by step process, though in reverse order. For the inside mirror, the first step is to remove the electrical connector if any is fitted. On some of the models, use a flat screwdriver covered with a thin layer of tape to pry between the mirror mount and the notch of the base of mirror stalk and freeing the hairpin type spring or unscrew the set screw located at the bottom of the mirror stalk. Listen for the sound of the electric motors; if they are audible but the mirror glass remains stationary, there may be an issue with the drive mechanism, necessitating removal and disassembly of the mirror to identify the problem. If there is no sound from the mirrors, check the fuse. If the fuse is intact, remove the mirror control switch from the dashboard and have its continuity tested by a qualified repair facility. Additionally, test the ground connections and check the wiring diagrams for guidance. If the mirror still does not function, remove it and check for voltage at the wires. If voltage is absent in each switch position, inspect the circuit between the mirror and control switch for any opens or shorts. If voltage is present, test the mirror off the vehicle using jumper wires and replace it if it fails this test.
