Every model comes with an additional Safety Restraint System (SRS) or airbag system for the driver and the front seat passenger in case of a head or frontal on collision. This system contains impact sensors, the driver's air bag module that is located in the center of the steering wheel, the passenger's air bag module that is positioned in the glove box area of the instrument panel and the sensing diagnostic module which is installed in the center of the floor pan. Other components include side-impact air bags, small units mounted on the side of the backrests that are intended to be operated in the case of a strong side-on collision, curtain air bags located behind the hard trim above the door opening that are activated when the vehicle is hit from the side.
