Kia 311302E350 Fuel Pump Sending Unit Assembly

You need to lower fuel pressure and take off the cap from the fuel tank to reduce pressure inside on Sportage SUVs. Unplug the battery negative cable, then take off the back seat cushion. A group of five components sits on the left fuel tank edge: fuel filler, pump, pressure regulator, first gauge sending unit, and second gauge sending unit. Take the round cover off by undoing the screws. Then disconnect the wiring plug from the fuel pump. Unplug the pump's power wires, then disconnect the two fuel connections on the quick-connect fittings. Loosen the bolts from the fuel pump mounting bracket and remove the entire pump assembly from the fuel tank. If you work on the fuel pressure regulator or fuel gauge sending unit, there are extra steps to follow; but if you're replacing the fuel pump or fuel filter integrated in it, you can't take apart the filter further. Follow these steps to reassemble everything: first lead back to negative battery terminal, go from engine start to testing.
