Q:
How Can I Replace the Driveaxle Oil Seals? Posted by Customer
A:
Wheel seal leaks frequently occur due to wear of the wheel seals, which are located at the sides of the transaxle. To replace the seals, raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands, then remove the driveaxle(s). Use a screwdriver or prybar to carefully pry the wheel seal out of the transaxle bore, or use a special wheel seal removal tool if necessary. Install the new wheel seal using a seal driver or a large deep socket, making sure it's completely seated and coating the seal lip with transaxle lubricant. Install the driveaxle(s) carefully to avoid damaging the lip of the new seal.

Q:
How to Replace the rear Oil Seal? Posted by Customer
A:
Raise the rear of the vehicle and securely support it on jackstands. Block the front wheels to prevent the vehicle from rolling. Place the transmission in Neutral with the parking brake off. Carefully pry out the side gear shaft oil seal with a seal removal tool or a large screwdriver, making sure you don't scratch the seal bore. Using a seal installer or a large deep socket as a drill, install the new wheel seal. Drive it into the bore squarely and ensure it is completely seated. Lubricate the lip of the new seal with multi-purpose grease, then install the driveaxles. Check the differential lubricant level and add some if necessary to bring it to the appropriate level.
