    Q:
How should the Coolant Temperature Sensor be handled and replaced in Kia Sedona? Posted by Customer
    A:
Always be gentle when moving the ECT sensor or connecting/disconnecting it as any damage done to it will affect the efficiency of the fuel injection system. Preliminary actions are to remove the lead from the negative terminal of the battery and sweet partly discharge the cooling system. On the 2005 and earlier models when using a scanner, the ECT is on the coolant pipe above the thermostat housing cover. Unbolt and remove the air filter housing; then locate the ECT sensor electrical connector and disconnect it; the remaining bolts should be detached to free the mounting section of the sensor from the coolant housing. The process of installation is the opposite to the process of removal, paying extreme attention not to over tighten the mounting bolts to their recommended torque and refilling of the cooling system. On all 2006 through 2010 models the ECT sensor is located on the coolant housing beneath the throttle body, and facing the firewall. Disconnect the air inlet duct and the ECT electrical connector and then open the screws and take the sensor out from housing. Use a little of the liquid sealant on the threads before engaging them, but don't use Teflon tape because it interferes with grounding. Similarly, installation is the mirror process of removal and makes sure that sensor is tightened to the right torque and fill up the cooling system. For the models manufactured from 2011 and onwards, the ECT sensor is mounted to the coolant housing which is located below the throttle body. Disconnect the electrical connection, then take off the air filter housing, the spring clip; finally, take out the sensor from the coolant housing. Then Installation is done in the reverse manner to the above, insisting that the spring clip is well seated and the sensor is locked, thereafter, the cooling system is refilled.

    Q:
How should the Coolant Temperature Sensor be handled and installed to ensure proper operation of the fuel injection system on Kia Sorento? Posted by Customer
    A:
Handle the ECT sensor with care, as damage will affect the operation of the entire fuel injection system. Begin by disconnecting the cable from the negative battery terminal and partially draining the cooling system. For four-cylinder models, the ECT sensor is located on the back side of the cylinder head; remove the spring clip and pull the sensor from the coolant temperature control housing, then reinstall by reversing the removal process and refilling the cooling system. In V6 models, the ECT sensor is positioned at the driver's end of the engine for 2006 and earlier models, and at the back for 2007 and later models. For 2011 V6 models, remove the air filler housing, disconnect the electrical connector to the ECT sensor, and unscrew the sensor from the cylinder head. Avoid sealing the threads of the new sensor with Teflon tape, as it will interfere with grounding; instead, apply a small amount of liquid sealer to the threads before installation. Reinstall the sensor by reversing the removal steps and ensure it is tightened securely before refilling the cooling system.

    Q:
Where is the Coolant Temperature Sensor located on Kia Spectra and How to replace it? Posted by Customer
    A:
The engine coolant must be drained partially so that it is below the height of the cylinder head. Don't drain your radiator; if you do, expect some coolant to run out when you pull the ECT sensor off. On 1994 through 1997 models, the ECT sensor is located right behind the distributor. If you want to disconnect the electrical connector, remove this retainer wire by prying it carefully and then slide out the connector. For 1998 and other later four-cylinder models, it is situated on the left side at the end of a cylinder head facing fire wall. If you wish to separate electrical connections carefully pry loose this retainer wire from its position after which you can easily remove it from there. The ECT sensor on 2.7LV6 engines is just below or directly under ignition coil pack. After un-screwing it, dispose of both old washer gasket and sealing pin for ECT sensors. Please always remember that if such a cool thing as an engine control system would be damaged in any way that would affect driving process badly as well. It should be installed as in reverse procedure beginning with replacement of new sealing washer and tightening up of ECT sensor till torque required for it while refilling with cooling medium has been done adequately enough!

    A:
