How do you remove the console for Kia Optima?

For the models between 2001 and 2006, remove the storage bin lid and the black plastic liner that occupies the area on the bin floor where the mat is to be removed Consequently, for the 2006.5 and later models, there are bolts on the floor of the bin and these need to be unbolted for the mat to be removed. Pry up the trim located at the lower part of the shift lever using trim removal tool, and remove the upper trim that has surrounds the shift lever, disconnect the electrical connectors of the switches on the upper trim piece and pull it out of the car. On models from 2001 to 2006, take out the two screws before the shift lever and the two behind it. For the models produced between 2001 and 2005, as well as some cars of 2006, shift the front seats as you require, and then unscrew the two screws located at the rear part of the console's assembly taking care of the threaded ends situated in the storage compartment if you cannot easily see them. Next, locate and undo two screws that are adjacent to the forward end of the console; if your car model is from 2001 to 2006 then there will be one screw on each side of the console, but if it is 2006.5 or later then you'll find two screws on each side. Last but not least, once you take out the console, the other steps are contrary to the removal ones.
