To remove the components, first relieve the fuel system pressure and disconnect the negative cable from the battery. Next, remove the engine cover and the air intake duct assembly, then detach the vent hose from the throttle body and disconnect the throttle cable. Clamp off the coolant hoses connected to the throttle body and disconnect them, ensuring to label each connector to avoid confusion later. Disconnect the brake booster hose and the PCV hose, followed by removing the fuel rail along with the injectors. Take out the lower intake manifold brace, and for models from 2006.5 and later, remove the oil dipstick assembly before removing the intake manifold along with the throttle body. For installation, clean the mating surfaces of the intake manifold and the
Cylinder Head mounting surface with brake system cleaner, then install the manifold and gasket on the cylinder head, securing them with the mounting fasteners. Tighten the manifold-to-cylinder head nuts/bolts in three or four equal steps to the specified torque, working from the middle bolts outward to prevent flexing. Reinstall the remaining parts in the reverse order of removal, check the coolant level and add as necessary, then run the engine to check for coolant and vacuum leaks. Finally, conduct a road test to ensure proper operation.
