For models from 2001 through 2006, the turn signal switches, which consist of two separate units connected to a central plastic housing around the steering column, control various functions: the left switch controls the
Headlights/tail and turn signals in addition to the high/low beams while the right switch controls the washer and wiper system/ windshield. These switches are continua, and each one can be replaced individually. First remove the cable where it is connected to the negative terminal of the battery, next, remove the steering column shrouds. After that, unscrew the switch, pull off the electrical connector as well as take out the switch. Like in removal, installation is carried out in the reverse order. Starting with the models from 2006.5, it is recommended to first separate the cable from the negative terminal of the battery and then remove the covers on the steering column. Every part of the turn signal switch's surrounding can be removed singularly by disconnecting the wires of the harness first and next pulling out the switch and pushing in the lock pin. Removal is conversely done through installation and the procedure entails reinstating the disabled components.
