To remove the power steering pump, first disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery and remove the fluid from the reservoir using a suction pump or equivalent, taking care not to tear any mesh filter that may be present just under the surface of the fluid. Next, raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands, then remove the drivebelt. Disconnect the power steering return line hose clamp, pull the hose from the pump, and cap the hose fitting at the pump. Remove the pressure line banjo-bolt and line from the pump, ensuring to replace the banjo-bolt sealing washers and plug the lines to prevent excessive fluid loss. Finally, remove the power steering pump mounting bolts and take out the pump. For installation, reverse the removal steps, tightening all power steering mounting fasteners and the pressure line-to-pump banjo bolt to the specified torque. Ensure the hoses are properly routed and the return line hose clamp is securely tightened. Fill the power steering fluid reservoir with the recommended fluid, install and adjust the drive belt, reconnect the negative battery cable, and bleed the power steering system. After stopping the engine, check the fluid level and inspect the system for leaks.
