Q: How Do I Replace the Condenser on My Kia Sorento?
A: Have the air conditioning system discharged and the refrigerant recovered by an automotive air conditioning technician, then on 2009 and earlier models remove the Radiator and Cooling Fan Assembly and on 2011 and later models remove the front bumper cover. Disconnect the inlet and outlet fittings, cap the open fittings immediately to keep moisture and dirt out of the system, remove the mounting fasteners and remove condenser from the radiator support. Install the condenser, brackets and bolts, making sure the rubber cushions fit on the mounting points properly, reconnect the refrigerant lines, using new 0-rings where needed and have the system evacuated, charged and leak tested by the shop that discharged it.
