How do you remove the console from a Kia Sorento?

Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Using a plastic trim tool, carefully pry up the console trim panel along the outer edges. Pry the storage compartment out of the console and remove the ash tray from the rear of the console, then take out the upper rear mounting screw. Remove the console rear mounting screws and any fasteners inside the console that were hidden by the storage compartment. Take out the console mounting screws from the sides and top of the console, then lift off the top trim panel and disconnect the power outlet electrical connector. Finally, lift off the console, with installation being the reverse of removal.
