Next, remove the hood release cable by pulling the latch and the cable end, involving in removal of the cable retainer. To install it, reverse all the steps explained above, but in this case, the latch should be set in such a way that the handles come into contact with the hood and slightly snap it when closed, and the
Bumpers should be slightly squeezed. In passenger compartment, turn the hood release handle anti-clockwise to around 90 degrees or 180 degrees, pull the aluminum housing covering at the end of the cable towards the rear and remove it from the hood release lever handle. Take a thin wire or string and fix it to the end of the cable, after this remove the hood release cable from the latch. Take out the LH inner plastic fender well and release all the cable retainers on the radiator support and outer fender well to expose the hood release cable. Snake the cable towards the wheel well exposing the wire or string and then disconnect it from the old cable and secure it on the new one. With the new cable well placed, draw the wire or string back through the body until the other end of the new cable is inserted into the inside handle. Last, decide the new cable into the hood release lever so that to the cable housing to sit into the groove in the handle bracket; and lastly, reverse the procedures given under the removals.
