Q: How to Replace the Throttle Valve Cable?A: Inspect the cable and housing for damage, ensure the accelerator doesn't bind and returns rapidly, replace the throttle cable if it's not smooth. Remove the square-head plug on the transaxle and install an oil pressure gauge. Start the engine, let it warm up, and check the idle speed adjustment. Loosen the bolts securing the throttle cable, ensure the throttle valve lever is closed, and adjust the cable bolts. Check the line pressure is within the specified range, if not, repeat the adjustment. Remove the pressure gauge and install the square-head plug. Remove the battery and throttle cable. Raise the vehicle, remove the wheel and engine splash shield, drain the transaxle lubricant. Support the engine from above, remove the engine mount through-bolts, crossmember, transaxle oil pan and gasket. Disconnect the solenoid connectors, remove the control valve body and throttle cable from the transaxle. Install a new throttle cable.
