The Kia Sportage Accelerator Cable converts each tap of the driver's foot into precise throttle movement to allow the engine to inhale the added air it needs to produce extra power. - Q: How to Replace an Accelerator Cable on Kia Sportage?A:To replace the accelerator cable, remove the engine cover and loosen the adjustment nut. Detach the cable from the intake manifold bracket. Slide the cable end plug out of the throttle cam and detach it from the firewall. Push the accelerator pedal forward to disengage the cable from the pedal arm. Pry out the accelerator cable grommet from the firewall and pull the cable out from the engine compartment.
