Disconnect the negative battery terminal and drain the cooling system. Remove the water pump pulley bolts, drivebelt, timing belt, tensioner, idler pulleys, water inlet pipe bolts, power steering pump and bracket, and water pump. Remove the alternator and its bracket. Check the impeller for corrosion or missing fins. Clean the engine mounting surface and ensure bolt threads are clear of corrosion. Compare the new pump to the old one. Apply RTV sealant to the new gasket and install it on the water pump. Position the water pump and tighten the bolts to the specified torque. Remove the drivebelt, timing belt covers, timing belt, idler pulley, and water pump. Inspect the pump for damage and replace if necessary. Clean the gasket surfaces before installing the pump. Install the pump mounting bolts in the correct holes and tighten to the torque. Refill the cooling system, check the drivebelt tension, reconnect the battery, and check for leaks.
