Front turn signal bulbs are accessible by reaching behind the headlight housing without removing the assembly; to remove the bulb holder, rotate it counterclockwise and pull it out, then take out the bulb from the holder, with installation being the reverse. For door panel lights, pry the lamp assembly from the door panel, disconnect the harness, turn the bulb holder counterclockwise to remove it, pull the bulb from its socket, and reinstall in reverse order. Fog light bulbs require removing the front bumper cover or plastic inner fender liners for access; disconnect the electrical connector, turn the bulb holder counterclockwise to remove it, and reinstall in reverse order. The center high-mounted brake light bulb is accessed by opening the liftgate, removing the window trim and screw covers, disconnecting the electrical connector, removing the bulb holder, and taking out the bulb, with installation being the reverse. For rear brake/tail, turn signal, brake, and back-up light bulbs, open the liftgate, remove the two mounting screws, pull the light assembly straight out, turn the bulb holder counterclockwise to remove it, take out the bulb, and reinstall in reverse order. License plate light bulbs are replaced by removing the screws securing the housing, pulling it from the liftgate, detaching the bulb holder, and pulling the bulb straight out. In the interior, for luggage compartment and dome light bulbs, pry off the lens with a screwdriver, lift it off, and remove the bulb from the terminals, reinstalling in reverse order. For the glove box light, lower the glove box door, remove the inner shell, disconnect the wiring, take out the bulb holder, and remove the bulb, with installation being the reverse.

Halogen gas filled bulbs are under high pressure, and touching the surface, or in case the bulb is dropped, they may explode, thus when handling these bulbs, safety glasses and preferably only the bulb base when holding them. Do not touch the surface of the bulb directly with fingers or oil that is from the skin can cause overheating and eventually the bulb fails; in case your fingers touched the bulb, use rubbing alcohol to wipe the bulb. For 1994 and 1995 models, begin the process by removing the electrical connector of the headlight bulb by holding the connector on two clips at the sides and pulling it. Second, turn the headlight bulb retaining ring anticlockwise to release it and finally, extract the bulb from about the housing. When replacing a headlight bulb, the customer should touch only the bottom of the bulb, and then it should be inserted on the headlight assembly so that the tabs would fit with the holes of the assembly, and the end cap should be twisted clockwise. Reconnect the electrical connector. For all of the 1995-1/2 and newer models, to take the headlight bulb cover, this has to be rotated anticlockwise, the electrical connector also has to be removed, the retaining wire unsnapped and the bulb has to be pulled out. To install the new bulb, it is required to fit it into the housing: adjust the three tabs of the bulb base with the three slots of the housing before fixing it, and other actions are done in reverse of the steps mentioned above.

Remove the headlamp assembly.

Instrument cluster illumination bulbs are not separately serviceable. For courtesy lights, pry off the lens and disconnect the electrical connector. For dome/cargo lights, pry off the lens to access the bulb. Liftgate lights require prying off the lens to remove the bulb. Overhead console reading lights involve prying off the lens cover to access the bulb, and vanity lights also require lens cover removal to replace the bulb.

The new bulb assembly should be inserted into the headlight housing without touching the bulb glass with bare fingers.

For 1994 and 1995 models, start by disconnecting the electrical connector from the headlight bulb by squeezing the tabs and pulling it away. Next, rotate the headlight bulb retaining ring counterclockwise to remove it, then pull the bulb out of the housing. When installing a new bulb, grasp only the base, insert it into the headlight assembly ensuring the tabs align with the slots, and secure it with the retaining ring by rotating it clockwise. Finally, reconnect the electrical connector.
