Remove all tools and rags from under the vehicle, then lower it. Add new oil through the filler cap using a funnel, pouring three quarts and checking the dipstick level.

Remove the oil filler cap and add fresh oil to the engine, typically four quarts. Check the oil level on the dipstick, and if it's near the FULL mark, install the filler cap and start the engine to allow the new oil to circulate. After a minute of engine running, check for oil leaks at the drain plug and filter. Recheck the oil level on the dipstick and add oil if needed to reach the FULL mark.

After changing the oil filter, remove all tools and lower the vehicle. In the engine compartment, remove the engine cover, locate the oil filter/housing, unscrew the oil filter cap, and replace the filter element. Install a new O-ring on the cap and stem. Add new oil through the oil filler cap, check the oil level, start the engine, and inspect for leaks. Allow the oil to settle, recheck the level, and top up if needed.
