Kia 311503E500 Fuel Pump Assembly

Depressurize the fuel system and remove the tank cap. Disconnect the negative battery terminal, remove the rear seat and carpet flap, and take off the fuel pump service hole cover. Disconnect the fuel pump connectors and fuel lines. For 2006 and earlier models, remove the fuel pump mounting flange bolts. For 2007 and later models, use tool #09310-2B200 or pliers to remove the lock ring. Lift the fuel pump assembly from the tank. Check the pump strainer for contamination and clean if necessary. If it's too dirty, remove and clean or replace it. Reinstall in reverse order.

Apply engine oil to the high-pressure pump 0-ring and set the pump on the cylinder head.

Drain any residual gasoline from the fuel pump/fuel level sending unit, then place it on a clean workbench in a well-ventilated areCheck the strainer for clogging and replace it if necessary.
