    Q:
How to Replace the Fuel Pump and Fuel Level Sensor on Kia Sportage? Posted by Customer
    A:
On Sportage models, the fuel pump assembly holds four essential fuel parts - the filter, pump, pressure regulator, and gauge sending unit. Before you can take out the assembly, begin by removing the fuel pump unit from your vehicle. After that, take off the old fuel filter and the fuel pressure regulator or fuel gauge sending unit. First put the filter, regulator, or sending unit onto the fuel pump, and then put in the entire fuel pump assembly. You'll find the fuel gauge sending unit for the right half of the fuel tank under the right access cover that's on top of this tank segment. Start by lifting the rear seat cushion from its place, and then the carpet underneath. Loosen the access cover screws and pull out the cover. First, pull out the electrical plug and tube attachment point for the fuel vacuum line, then twist out the bolts that hold the fuel gauge's mounting place to the fuel tank and remove the unit. Installation is the reverse of removal.
