    How is the receiver/drier, also known as the A/C Accumulator, handled in the 2002 Kia Optima? Posted by Customer

    The condenser is removed from the vehicle, and the bottom cap of the receiver/drier is detached using an Allen wrench. The desiccant is then removed from the receiver/drier with needle-nose pliers. When installing the new desiccant, new O-rings and a new bottom cap should be used, and the bottom cap should be tightened to the specified torque. The O-rings should be lubricated with R-134a-compatible refrigerant oil.
