Remove the engine splash shield if equipped, the front wheel, and the inner fender splash shield. Remove the bolt from the front of the crankshaft using a breaker bar, as the bolt is very tight. To prevent the crankshaft from turning, either remove the starter and install a driveplate locking tool or wedge a large screwdriver in the ring gear teeth, or remove the torque converter access plate and use the same method. Discard the bolt and obtain a new one for installation. A puller should not be necessary, but if the pulley is stuck, only use a puller that bolts to the hub of the pulley, using a large wrench to keep the crankshaft from turning while removing the crankshaft pulley bolt and the pulley itself. Ensure the proper adapter is used to prevent damage to the end of the crankshaft. To install the crankshaft pulley, slide it onto the crankshaft, aligning it with the Woodruff key in the end of the crankshaft. Tighten the new crankshaft pulley bolt to the specified torque. The remainder of installation follows the reverse order of removal.
