Kia Spectra Crankshaft Pulley

Kia Spectra Crankshaft Pulley distributes engine torque to all components driven by belts and also reduces vibration, allowing steering to stay light, charging to be strong, and cabins cool. Every year, the Crankshaft Pulley is mounted on the harmonic balancer on the nose of the crankshaft and drives a single serpentine belt, which drives the alternator, power steering pump, and A/C compressor. The older high rev cars applied more than one V-belt, but each Spectra was shifted to this type of single belt to prevent jump during rapid shifts. This design operates using a tensioner and idler set, and when the latter wears, the belt can slip, chirp, or drain the battery; therefore, a healthy Crankshaft Pulley relies on firm alignment and tension. Numerous makers include one-way or overrunning alternator decoupler pulleys, which freewheel on deceleration, reducing strain and extending belt life, a benefit all Spectra drivers appreciate. A lighter or smaller Crankshaft Pulley may cause a decrease in drag, but the standard Crankshaft Pulley has already traded off damping and durability to suit the typical Kia commuter. Regular inspection of the Crankshaft Pulley to verify wobble or cracked rubber ensures that a Kia runs well, Kia Spectra idles quietly, and the belt that connects the entire drive is maintained.

If you're in search of top-notch, reasonably priced OEM Kia Spectra Crankshaft Pulley, then you've found the perfect spot. Our website boasts an extensive inventory of Kia Spectra Crankshaft Pulley, all priced at the market's premier price. Rest assured, every genuine part we offer comes with a warranty straight from the manufacturer.

Kia Spectra Crankshaft Pulley Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Crankshaft Seal and Crankshaft Pulley on a Kia Spectra four-cylinder engine?
    A:
To replace the front crank seal on engines other than the 2.0L DOHC the first step is to remove the negative terminal of the battery, and second remove the engine splash shield. Remove the right front wheel by unlatching all the lug nuts but one, lift the car on jack stands and fully unscrew the nut. Subsequently, take off the crankshaft pulley, Timing Belt covers, the timing belt, and the timing belt guide. Laying the vehicle on my side, I used a special sprocket removal puller to removal the crankshaft sprocket, then I trimmed the front oil seal lip using a razor knife. Observe the orientation of the oil seal and the status of the lip by pulling the lip back slightly and removing the lip with a screwdriver with its blade covered in rags to avoid scratching the crankshaft or the engine block. The bore and crankshaft surface should be clean, the outer section of the new oil seal should be covered by engine oil and lubricated on the lip portion. The oil seal must be professed in by hand, then by using a sealer driver or a socket it should be tapped into place with the oil pump body until it is flush and square with the body. Replace the crankshaft timing belt sprocket and the timing belt; then perform the assembly in the order opposite to the disassembly one. Last, turn on the engine while observing for oil drips on the ground centering at the front oil seal position. In reference to the 2.0 L DOHC engine, the timing belt cover, timing belt, and the crankshaft sprocket will have to be removed; the next procedure will involve looking at the depth the seal is recessed to before one manages to pry it out of the oil pump housing. Lubricate the inside of the new seal with clean engine oil or grease and using a socket or pipe, drive it into place with equal force to your original sealing ring and to the same depth. Re-also install crankshaft sprocket and timing belt and start the engine, looking out for oil leakage at the front seal.
